We have two rearranged fixtures to look forward to in the Premier League on Wednesday. First up, Sean Dyche’s Burnley welcome Scott Parker’s Fulham to Turf Moor, while seemingly unstoppable Premier League leaders and champions-elect Manchester City travel to Merseyside to face Everton at Goodison Park shortly after. These are two big games at opposite ends of the table but who will come out on top and where does the value lie when it comes to the bets you should make?
Burnley v Fulham
18:00, Sky Sports, Turf Moor
Burnley and Fulham meet in an intriguing fixture at Turf Moor on Wednesday. The Clarets are in 16th place with 26 points to their name, while the Cottagers are eight points behind in 18th. For a while now it seemed that the bottom three were doomed but we may just have the makings of a relegation battle on our hands. Fulham will move four points away from safety with victory in Lancashire and just five points behind Brighton in the lofty position of 15th.
Burnley come into this game 16th and picked up a precious 3-0 win at Crystal Palace last weekend, while Fulham sealed a superb 2-0 triumph at Everton. Those were both surprising results in a season jam-packed with upsets but who can kick on and claim another win? Both sides would love maximum points from this one, but a draw would not be a bad result for either. Check out the draw and both teams to score at the very big price of 7/2.
Everton v Manchester City
20:15, Amazon Prime, Goodison Park
Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton and Pep Guardiola’s Man City square off at Goodison Park in the Premier League on Wednesday night. This rearranged clash is not great timing for the hosts who face Liverpool at the weekend and are showing signs of tiredness after an intense run of fixtures, including their 5-4 extra time FA Cup win over Spurs. The Toffees will be desperate to bounce back from last weekend’s disappointing home defeat to lowly Fulham, though the Citizens are the clear favourites at Goodison. Ancelotti’s men looked really listless in that loss to Fulham and against the best team in the league they need to improve a great deal or they could face a humiliation.
Since a 1-1 home league draw with West Bromwich Albion on 15th December, Man City have won a staggering 16 league and cup games in a row, with 11 of those victories coming in the Premier League. They are virtually impossible to score against and even without a recognised striker are banging in the goals for fun at the other end. City are now seven points clear at the top of the table and this is a game in hand for them too.
The hosts could be without a number of key players here but even if Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Allan and James are passed fit, this looks a test too far for them right now based on current form. Pep’s boys should ease past the Toffees on Wednesday and you can get generous looking odds of 2/1 for the visitors to win both halves.
