Manchester City moved back to the top of the Premier League table with a 1-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley Stadium on Monday night. Meanwhile, Liverpool beat Cardiff City 4-1 while Chelsea won 4-0 at Turf Moor. That maintains the very tight picture at the top of the table and neutrals will be hoping we have a three horse race deep into the season.

At the other end, there were defeats for Huddersfield Town and Fulham, who square off in a huge match at the Kirklees Stadium this Monday night. Get ready for what will no doubt be another thrilling week of action in the Premier League.

Gunners & Reds Lock Horns at the Emirates

The standout match of the weekend is the Arsenal v Liverpool affair at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday evening. Before drawing 2-2 with Crystal Palace last weekend, the Gunners had won 11 league and cup matches in a row. As for Liverpool, they maintained their unbeaten start in the league with an emphatic win over Cardiff at Anfield.

With both teams in tremendous form at the moment, this could go either way in north London. Unai Emery’s men have won all of their home games since losing 2-0 to Man City on the opening weekend of the season. Even though the Gunners have not been at their superb best lately, Emery’s men have found a way to win and their record at home has been superb for several years now. Last weekend’s draw at Selhurst Park was a setback, but Arsenal certainly have the quality in their team to bounce back right away, especially in front of their own fans.

That said, it’s worth noting that Jurgen Klopp’s Reds have dropped just two points on the road this term. Since drawing 0-0 with Man City at Anfield last month, Liverpool have responded with three league and cup wins in a row, beating Huddersfield 1-0, Red Star Belgrade 4-0 and Cardiff 4-1. Klopp’s troops look like genuine Premier League title contenders this season and the longer they can keep the pressure on City the greater their belief will grow.

This promises to be a cracking encounter at the Emirates, but we can see these two Premier League heavyweights cancelling each other out. With that in mind, take a punt on the draw at 13/5. If you want a bigger return it’s very hard to see this ending 0-0 so throw in BTTS to the draw bet to increase the odds a little further.

Intriguing Battle at the Bottom

David Wagner’s Huddersfield Town entertain Slavisa Jokanovic’s Fulham at the Kirklees Stadium in a huge fixture on Monday. These two sides have been poor so far, as the Terriers sit rock bottom on three points, with the Cottagers just two points and two places above in 18th. We may only be in November, but this is already a relegation six-pointer and a crucial clash.

Huddersfield have made an abysmal start to their season, drawing three and losing seven of their opening 10. In fact, only the Terriers and Newcastle United are yet to win a game in the Premier League so far this term, something Wagner will feel his men have a real chance to change in this clash.

Fulham have struggled of late too, as the Whites have also lost seven of their opening 10 matches. The London outfit have conceded the most goals in the division, shipping a staggering 28 times already. Fulham have picked up a mere one point from a possible 15 away from home, drawing with Brighton & Hove Albion and losing at Tottenham, Man City, Everton and Cardiff.

This is a massive game for both clubs, but we fancy Huddersfield to pick up their first win of the season on Monday. The home victory is available at the decent odds of 6/5 and that looks solid given just how poor at the back the Cottagers have been thus far.

Wins for Man City & Chelsea

Pep Guardiola’s Man City will be on the lookout for another win when they take on Mark Hughes’ Southampton at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon. The leaders are the overwhelming favourites to secure all three points, and we fancy the Citizens to win by a margin this weekend. Take a punt on City to prevail -2 at 5/6, cracking value given how often they brush teams aside on home soil.

Also on Sunday, Chelsea welcome Crystal Palace to Stamford Bridge for a London derby. The Blues, who were 4-0 winners at Burnley last week, should be too strong for Roy Hodgson’s inconsistent Eagles on Sunday. With that in mind, put a few quid on Maurizio Sarri’s Chelsea to win -1 (8/11) at the Bridge.

  • Bournemouth v Man Utd – On Saturday afternoon in the Premier League, Eddie Howe’s in-form Bournemouth host Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United at the Vitality Stadium. With the Cherries in superb form, Howe’s side will back themselves to pick up a win in this one. However, we can see United’s qualities shining through on the coast. United were very good against Everton last weekend so take a punt on the away side to win at 19/20.
  • Cardiff v Leicester – Cardiff and Leicester City meet at the Cardiff City Stadium in South Wales on Saturday. The Bluebirds, who beat Fulham 4-2 in their last home encounter, will be desperate to make home advantage count in this one. We fancy the hosts to nick it in the Welsh capital on Saturday at really tempting odds of 13/5.
  • Everton v Brighton – Marco Silva’s Everton and Chris Hughton’s Brighton meet at Goodison Park on Saturday. The Toffees have won their last two at home in the Premier League, and they will be targeting a victory over the Seagulls at the weekend. Back Everton to win -1 at 7/4 as they look to cash in at home against one of the top flight’s lesser lights.
  • Newcastle v Watford – Rafa Benitez’s Newcastle will be searching for their first win of the season when Javier Gracia’s Watford visit St James’ Park at the weekend. This is a vital match for the Magpies, who have forgotten what it’s like to win a game in the Premier League. With both teams pushing for a victory, we can see the pair getting on the scoresheet (19/20) in this one.
  • West Ham v Burnley – West Ham United and Burnley do battle in an important fixture at the London Stadium. These two sides each have eight points to their name, with both teams winning two, drawing two and losing six so far. On paper, the Hammers and the Clarets look pretty evenly matched, so we fancy Saturday’s game in London to end all square, which is available at 13/5.
  • Wolves v Tottenham – After losing at home to Man City last time out, Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham will be after all three points when they take on Nuno Espirito Santo’s Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux on Saturday night. Wolves have been very competitive so far this season, winning four of their opening 10 fixtures. However, we’re backing Spurs to edge this at Molineux, with the away win priced at 23/20.
